Last night, I was lucky enough to attend Al Green's concert in Amsterdam, Paradiso, and it was simply amazing. Forget electronic music, this was the real thing: 12 musicians on stage, 2 chorists and Al Green. His voice was fantastic and his personality radiated on stage. He just connected with his music and his public is an amazing way, making jokes, playing his best known songs and some out of his new album, giving out roses to the ladies, shouting I love you's, flicking sweat out of his forehead, impressing us with his high notes and his moves on stage. Time flew by and there was soul.
